  • We will continue working on the rough draft template. Listen as a provide beneficial feedback on how to use a direct quote properly. ( 30 minutes) 
    • It is time to create a direct quote sandwich  🍔
    • The top bun :  An introduction sentence that your quote will support.  
    • The hamburg:  The quote
    • Explanation how the quote supports your idea
  • Refrain from using this quote supports my thesis, or repeating if you think Jackson was a good or bad president

  • STUDY ON YOUR OWN TIME FOR THE TEST OBJECTIVES BY PLAYING THE GAME POSTED IN GOOGLE CLASSROOM. 
  • We will continue learning about President Jackson and you will form an opinion if he was a good or bad president.
  • The last reading is on Jackson's Native American Policy - click here to access the reading. Directions for reading:
    • underline sentences that indicate Jackson was a good president
    • bracket sentences that indicate Jackson was a bad president
  • Flip paper over in the BOX at the bottom 
    • Write and complete the sentence: I think Jackson was a _______ President. 
    • Insert direct quote from reading to support your opinion.
    • In one sentence explain how the quote supports your opinion

  • Watch this tutorial on how to create a simple thesis.   
  • The evidence that will support your thesis will be coming only from the readings we did in class. There is no internet sources associated with this activity.

  • Monroe- is done with his two terms and the next political scandal is here... Listen to the virtual class and fill in the notes worksheet (you keep) 
  • Today we are going to begin exploring the Essential Question :  Was Andrew Jackson a good president or a bad president?  This is the question you will be answering as part of your summative. I have readings that you will use.  
  • Today we will begin with the first reading and you will learn about Jackson's love of the bank #fakenews.
    • Absent here is the reading and email your work. You need to complete the vocabulary and summary columns. You do not have to do a drawing . Instead in that box, give your opinion : Jackson a good or bad president in dealing with the bank. 
  • Done early play the game posted in google classroom to study for the test next week
